WAR IS KILLING PEOPLE AND IT’S KILLING THE PLANET.

MISSION

As the world races to cut emissions, one of the largest sources of greenhouse gases remains hidden in plain sight: the military. From the production of fuel-guzzling jets and tanks to their use on the battlefield, and the vast emissions generated clearing and reconstructing damage, armed conflict emits more CO₂, than most countries. Yet these emissions are still excluded from mandatory reporting under global climate agreements.

They are deliberately hidden from the public and missing from government climate action plans. Worse, military spending dwarfs climate finance 30-to-1, robbing vital resources from sustainability efforts.

The War On Climate exists to change that. We spotlight the military's climate impact, push for accountability, and spark the conversations

Militaries pump out as much carbon as all the world’s planes and ships combined
